1973 Morgan 4/4
2-Seater
This Morgan was purchased new from
Mike Spence Motors, Henley on Thames, England by John R Jennings in 1973.
John used the car in the UK for 2 years before he and the car to Australia
in 1975. A re-build was carried out in Sydney during 1979-80 and then
transferred to Adelaide. The motor, gearbox and suspension were rebuilt by
specialist Tony Heard in 1995. 1999 Tony Heard then purchased the car from
John. Tony stripped the car to the last nut and bolt and re-built to show
car standard, taking over four years to complete.
The car is now presented in absolute concourse condition and would rate
very high in world standards.
In
1980 - 81 this Morgan was the feature of the Amoco Oil Company Final
Filter advertisement. The filming took place on a mountain ridge at Maleny,
Sunshine Coast Qld. Some reporters considered it as the best motoring
adverts ever made
